Elmsford Union Free School District is looking for a self- motivated Dual Language Education Teacher with the ability to ensure student success through differentiated instruction. The candidate must be able to create and maintain a climate that promotes respect, tolerance and peaceful problem solving for all students. CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: MUST: NYS certification in Bilingual Education (1-6) (specifically Spanish) AND NYS certification in Elementary grades 1-6 PREFERRED: *ENL certification grades 1-6 is a plus *Certification in elementary N-2 is a plus. *SWD certification is a plus. Performance Responsibilities: Must be fluent in Spanish. It is expected that the candidate have experience in teaching a dual language class. The candidate is expected to provide instruction in Spanish and English through lectures, discussions, visual aids, and other effective teaching methods for student comprehension. Prepare lessons and outlines to use in class that effectively cover the material. Administers various types of assessments to monitor students’ performance. Attends faculty meetings and training sessions. It is expected that the preferred candidate will have knowledge of the NYS Learning Standards AND can translate curriculum into Spanish. Knowledge of e-School Student Management (or facsimile), technology knowledge (i.e., chromebook, smartboard, IEP Direct, webpage, Google). Additional experience in DRA, i-Ready, Fundations or Just Words is preferred. Compensation: Flexible, depending upon experience
