Appointment Status: Probationary / Full-Time The Eldred Central School District is seeking a dedicated, energetic, and student-centered Grades 7–12 Life Science Biology Teacher to join our instructional team. The core mission of this role is to provide quality educational instruction that advances student development through challenging and rigorous academic activities. Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction to middle and/or high school students. Develop daily lesson plans and long-term units that directly align with NYSED NGSS Science Learning Standards. Utilize differentiated instruction strategies to meet the varied learning needs, styles, and abilities of all students, including ELL and IEP/504 populations. Assess student learning utilizing various methods to drive instructional choices; assign and grade classwork, homework, tests, and projects in a timely manner. Provide constructive, detailed feedback on student work to promote continuous growth and advancement. Maintain highly accurate and complete records of student progress, development, and attendance; prepare required reports on students and activities as necessary. Manage student behavior and maintain an orderly classroom environment by establishing clear, consistent rules and procedures. Cultivate student skill development, resilience, and positive mindsets toward challenging scientific concepts. Stay current with the most recent pedagogical developments and curriculum updates in secondary science. Participate actively in department, school, and district meetings, as well as designated professional development activities. Strong interpersonal skills, excellent classroom management, and a proven ability to collaborate seamlessly with parents, administration, and colleagues. Job Qualifications Must have NYS Certification in Biology Gr. 7-12 Must meet NYSED Fingerprinting requirements Preferred Special Education certification, but not required.
