Eldred Central School district is seeking a knowledgeable and self-motivated full-time special education teacher to teach an 8:1:1 class. The proposed candidate will be expected to teach an academically individualized and small group instruction-based curriculum for students with learning, behavioral, and social needs. Eldred is located in a beautiful rural area of the Mid-Hudson Valley, bordering Pennsylvania. PREFERRED CANDIDATE SKILLS/CREDENTIALS:Will have a teaching certification to work with students with disabilities in kindergarten to 12th grade.Will have a certification or experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).Will have strong behavior management skills that foster academic learning.Will have experience administering the New York State Alternative Assessment (NYSAA).Will be flexible with age levels to work with. PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide specially designed instruction, differentiation, and behavior management with students to better access the curriculum.Learn and implement the school curriculum with students.Follow guidelines for writing IEPs within the specific time requirements.Gather data to show success or areas for improvement for students and their IEP goals.Prepare prior to CSE meetings with committee members regarding recommendations.Communicate with related service providers regarding progress of students and areas for improvement.Communicate with parents regarding success and areas of improvement. Provide training to parents to assist with student growth.
