Qualifications: New York State Certification in content area: Earth Science 7-12Preferred: Dual Certification- Special Education and Earth ScienceGraduate of a four-year regionally accredited college or a higher institution approved by the New York State Education Department; Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, and administrators;Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing with faculty, administrators, and members of the team;Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through;Positive attitude, flexible approach, and a collaborative team player;Preferred: strong knowledge of current business practices and procedures;Excellent interpersonal, organizational, planning and leadership skills;Must be able to serve as a positive role model for young adults. Review and update the Earth Science curriculum as needed using the current NYS curriculum. Provide support to students as they learn and grow, helping them prepare academically and socially for the transition to high school; Remain current on best practices regarding the teaching and learning process, including differentiation for students with disabilities and ELL students;Maintains a variety of records (e.g. signed permission forms, emergency information schedules, equipment inventories, sales records, student grades, student attendance, etc.) for the purpose of complying with district and/or report scores and strategies to the ECSD public media;Establishes and maintains standards of classroom management required to achieve effective participation in all activities.Communicates with parents through a variety of means.Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the district and/or professional growth activities and university courses.Participates cooperatively with the appropriate administrator in the observation process by which s/he/they will be evaluated in conformance with district guidelines.Salary: Salary will be determined in accordance with the Eldred Faculty Association contract based on the individual’s prior training and level of experience.Terms of Employment: 4 year probationaryEffective Date: On or about 8/28/24
