JOB DESCRIPTION:The Eldred Central School District is looking for a special education teacher. Our focus is on providing our students with immersive learning experiences that will help them not only master content but also acquire the skills necessary to succeed in today's world. We look to hire energetic, dedicated individuals who will work collaboratively to provide our students with a supportive and welcoming learning environment. George Ross Mackenzie Elementary School is looking for a dynamic and student-centered teacher to serve in a probationary position as a full time Special Education Teacher beginning September 2023. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:Will have strong behavioral management skills and instructional techniques that foster a healthy and productive academic classroom environment.Will demonstrate the ability to collaborate with related service providers, grade level staff, and the special class team.Will be skilled in the delivery of instructional guidance and supervision of paraprofessionals.Will have experience teaching in integrated co-teaching settings.Will have experience teaching in the upper elementary grades.Will have experience teaching elementary math and science.Will have differentiating instruction/providing specially designed instruction for varying grade levels and academic content within the same class. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:· Prepare and deliver daily lesson plans for all instructional periods· Keep accurate records of individual student progress throughout the school year.· Provide parents with evaluative feedback on student progress. · Develop curricula throughout the school year consistent with the class profile and students’ IEPs in collaboration with school administrative staff. PREFERRED CERTIFICATION:· NYS Special Education, Grades K-12 REQUIRED CERTIFICATION:· NYS Special Education, Grades 1-6 The successful candidate must be collaborative and eager to be part of an innovative and dynamic team focused on developing and delivering interdisciplinary special education services for our district’s students.
