This is a newly createdposition, the main focus for which will be providing structured, pedagogical coaching for teachers across all contentareas. Previous applicants are asked not to reapply.The requirements for this shared position include: Holding current grades K-6 NYS certification (i.e. certification for all grade levels across grades K-6). Having strong interpersonal skills, the capacity to build trusting relationships, and the ability to providehonest and accurate feedback. Having broad knowledge of current best practices in curriculum, instruction, and assessment for elementaryand middle school education, in particular for English language arts and mathematics. Having a solid understanding of current best practices in adult learning and the planning and delivery ofhigh-quality, engaging professional learning experiences.The responsibilities for this shared position include: Collaborating with teachers to gather and analyze data (e.g., video, observations, student work samples,etc.) pertaining to their practices and using that data to establish goals for student growth and improvement. Working with individual teachers to research and implement instructional strategies that will help themachieve their goals via lesson modeling and co-teaching. Assisting teachers in creating, revising, and implementing curriculum. Making new instructional practices and strategies sustainable by providing ongoing support and feedback toteachers inclusive of school-based committee work. Creating and maintaining an “instructional playbook” that describes common, content-specific, and research-based strategies that can be shared with teachers. Attending professional development sessions and engaging with print and online resources to remaincurrent in understanding best practices and new developments in elementary and middle school education. Advising building and District administrators on broad areas of need and growth shared by many or allGreenville and Seely Place teachers, with emphasis on vertical articulation. Planning professional development sessions to be facilitated during building faculty meetings,department/grade level meetings, and/or Superintendent’s Conference Days. Participating on the District Professional Development Committee.
