Reports To: School Business ManagerJob Objective: Organize and manage the district food services according to State and Federal regulations. Prepare and oversee the serving of nutritional meals according to State and Federal regulations, and the cleaning of facilities, manage inventory and appropriate records.Minimum Qualifications: Two years of accredited college in food management, foods, and nutrition. An A.A.S. degree is preferred. A minimum of three (3) years of school food service or closely related experience. No criminal record. Fingerprinted. Knowledge of State and Federal nutrition laws and regulations. Computer skills and knowledge of food services related software. Record keeping skills.Job Duties, Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Plan and prepare nutritional menus that comply with State and Federal regulations. Oversee, prepare, and serve food in large quantities. Present food in attractive fashion. Follow standardized recipes and monitor portion size. Account for all lunches & breakfast meals served at point of service. Oversee the proper storage and/or disposal of leftover foods. Oversee equipment use/routine maintenance. Development of the food service budget. Preparing requisition orders. Submit receiving reports and invoices monthly to the Business Office. Prepare a record of daily cash and submit to the Business Manager. Submit records and cash to the Business Office daily. Prepare applications for government subsidy/surplus food and submit them to the Business Office. Maintain accurate inventory of purchased and surplus foods. Prepare end of month reports as required. Approve all free and reduced meal applications. Display sensitivity and tact with students in the subsidized program. All such information must be treated as confidential. Monitor kitchen, storage, and serving areas to assure compliance with health/sanitary regulations. Prepare/maintain all records required by law. Keep the School Business Manager informed about hazards in the kitchen/cafeteria area as they occur. Assist with the PTO community dinner. Provide refreshments for Superintendent & Conference Days. Serve as role model for students, showing citizenship, respect, and courtesy. Perform other duties, as directed.Physical and Mental Abilities Require: Ability to organize and complete duties efficiently. Ability to identify and express problems or issues with administrators and staff. Must react productively to frequent interruptions and changing conditions. Must maintain harmonious relations among employees. Ability to lift, carry, or move supplies and equipment weighing up to forty (40) pounds. Must maintain a tactful disposition in dealing with staff, students, parents, and the public. Maintain a good attendance record.Supervisory Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Superintendent: schedule work assignments, provide instruction, train, and communicate expectations to cook, aides, student, teachers, and volunteers, when assigned. Exercise supervision over work of cook and food service helper(s).Salary/Benefits: As per CSEA Contract
