Messenger, Part-Time2023-2024District WideThere is an immediate vacancy for the position of part-time Messenger in the Facilities Department. Responsibilities:Responsible for the pick-up and delivery of mail/packages and other materials (including cafeteria supplies and materials, copy paper and copy deliveries) within and outside of the School District;Sort incoming mail and prepare interoffice and external mail for delivery (including postmarking mail), as required;Drive and maintain district vehicle to be used for deliveries and pick- ups;Photocopying of documentation as required;May use desktop software packages, i.e. email/calendars and/or word processing or spreadsheet applications for tracking pickup and delivery assignments as needed.Other related tasks as required by the Director of Facilities.Qualifications:Ability to handle routine clerical work independently;Familiarity with the operation of postage meter equipment, preferred;Physical condition commensurate with the duties of the position;Valid New York State driver’s license.Prerequisites:Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma. Ability to: drive a van/truck; read, write and understand English; take oral and written directives; be courteous and professional. Employment Terms: Hours: Monday – Friday (20 hours per week) 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.Salary: $25.00 per hour Fingerprint Clearance: SAVE Law: Effective July 1, 2001, Education Law §§305(30), 3004-b, 3004-c and 3035, as amended by Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, and Part 87 of the Commissioner's Regulations require the Commissioner of Education to request a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check for applicants for certification as well as for prospective employees of school districts, charter schools and boards of cooperative educational services (BOCES).
