The Eastchester Union Free School District is seeking to fill the position of Director of Facilities III, effective July 1, 2023. This position reports to the Assistant Superintendent of Business and is responsible for providing administrative direction to the school district’s Buildings and Grounds Department. The work is performed according to established policies and procedures and in accordance with applicable state, local, and federal laws, and rules and regulations which apply to school district facility operations and maintenance. Qualifications of an ideal candidate include: thorough knowledge of facilities operations including maintenance, grounds and custodial departments;experience in the preparation and management of annual budgets; the planning, development and oversight of facilities maintenance; the oversight of existing and new capital construction projects; the purchasing of cleaning supplies and equipment; the inspection and testing of safety, security and fire alarm systems; interviewing, hiring, evaluation and supervision of departmental personnel; the oversight of district facilities usage; and other assignments and responsibilities associated with and not limited as directed by the district administration.The title of Director of Facilities III is a competitive Civil Service title. Candidates must either hold permanent status in the title or be reachable on the corresponding list of eligibles. Salary will be based upon qualifications and experience. Fingerprint Clearance: SAVE Law: Effective July 1, 2001, Education Law §§305(30), 3004-b, 3004-c and 3035, as amended by Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, and Part 87 of the Commissioner's Regulations require the Commissioner of Education to request a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check for applicants for certification as well as for prospective employees of school districts, charter schools and boards of cooperative educational services (BOCES).
