POSITION: Teaching Assistant - Multiple Positions - Multiple Locations QUALIFICATIONS: Previous background/experience working with children. New York State Certified (or certifiable) as a teaching assistant. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: The following are examples of typical duties associated with the position; but the list is not all inclusive, and other duties appropriate to the position may also be assigned. 1. Provide direct instruction to students under the direction of a teacher. 2. Assist pupils in the use of instructional materials and assist in the development of instructional material. 3. Participation as required and /or able, on building and district curriculum or program committees. 4. Participation in building planning/problem solving efforts as needed or required. 5. Work with individual pupils on special instructional projects.
