POSITION: Speech Language PathologistQUALIFICATIONS: NYS Certified as Speech Language Pathologist; familiarity with current research, methodology and learning standards in speech therapy. Experience working with students with cerebral palsy, developmental verbal apraxia, hearing impairments, stuttering and autism spectrum disorders preferred. Should be familiar with augmentative communication devices, amplification devices and basic sign. REPORTS TO: Director of Special EducationPERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide speech and language therapy to students with disabilities, as per their IEPs or Section 504 Plans.Provide consultation to classroom teachers, special education teachers, related service providers and parents regarding speech and language needs of students.Attend CSE, CST and Section 504 meetings.Be an active participant in teacher team meetings.Perform screenings, evaluations and assessments, as requested.Develop the following reports: Screenings, Initial Assessments, Reevaluations, Annual Education Reviews, and MedicaidDevelop and update IEPs.Make recommendations regarding the need for speech or language services to the CSE and prepare prescriptions for the physician’s signature.Oversee the Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Impaired.SALARY: BS Step 1 - $ 60,308MS Step 1 - $ 62,738STARTING DATE: September 1, 2025 APPLICATION DEADLINE: March 27, 2025APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Apply to www.olasjobs.orgCoxsackie-Athens CSD
