The Central Islip School District is seeking a Director of Math, Science, and Technology K-12 for the 2024-2025 school year. Candidates must hold appropriate NYS Administrative Certification and and MA degree with an emphasis on Administration/Math and Science Curriculum. Candidates should possess a background in Instructional Technology, Computer Science and Digital Fluency.Duties include but not limited to:-Assume responsibility for providing leadership in supporting, implementing and making recommendations for the K-12 curriculum frameworks for math, science, instructional/computer science and digital fluency.-Facilitate and coordinate professional development for administrators and teachers in the Next Generation Learning Standards and the use of materials and practices in math, science and technology.-Facilitate curriculum planning, implementation and evaluation of the K-12 Math, Science programs and the Computer Science and Digital Fluency Learning Standards.-Support Curriculum writing initiatives that pertain to your departments.-Conduct secondary department meetings.-Provide direction, support and recommendations for the AIS Math program.-Consult with principals in the preparation of individual school budgets as well as preparing with district's math and science budget.-Ensure that all grade levels have the resources and learning supports necessary.-Support digital resources/programs pertaining to your department.-Use data from mandated statewide assessments and local proficiency testing to strategically plan for continuous improvement of the District's K-12 Math and Science programs.-Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.
