Central Islip UFSD is seeking outstanding candidates for the anticipated position as Assistant Director of Special Education who will assist the Assistant Superintendent of Special Education & PPS in the supervision and administration of all facets of the special education program, including services, decision making, personnel and budget for SWDs, ages 3 through 21. Successful candidates will have:Extensive knowledge of state and federal laws related to CSE/CPSE/Section 504;Experience chairing meetings and managing IEP/504 plans;Knowledgeable in current educational research, instructional strategies, testing, and evaluation;Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with parents/guardians, the community, staff and students.Knowledge of observation & supervisory strategies;Minimum 5 years successful experience in related area (E.g. special education, psychology, speech, social work).Appropriate NYS School District Administrator certification
