We are committed to a strong partnership with our teachers, parents, and community.Overview: The Academic Intervention Services Teacher is responsible for working directly with students to provide supplemental support in achieving measurable improvements in reading and mathematics. Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Special Education or Teaching Literacy. Valid NYS teacher certification - Grades 1-6At least 7 years of effective teaching experienceData has proven success in teaching math and literacy, as well as mastery of knowledge in ELA and Math.Duties and Responsibilities:Collaborative teaching and pull-out intervention support for individual students, small groups, and entire classes Advise teachers on modifying/accommodating the curriculum for students and share best practices to ensure high-quality instruction.Help plan and implement building-level staff development and observe instructional consistency to support core reading and math skills across the curriculum.Use data from screening, diagnostic, interim, formative, and summative assessments to track and report student progress toward goals set in learning plans.Create and maintain logs of daily student attendance, student progress, lesson plans, and parent contact.Communicate students’ progress and interventions with faculty, students, and families.
