The Cooperstown Central School District seeks a visionary leader to serve in the position as Principal. An administrator who can collaborate with the school community in creating an engaging learning environment that prepares students for college/career in the 21st century. The successful candidate will provide leadership and oversight of the educational programs, composed of one hundred and forty (140) staff members with approximately 800 students offering a robust curriculum across two buildings; Elementary (K-6) and Jr./Sr. High School (7-12). In addition to having strong leadership, management, instructional and organizational skills, the selected candidate will:exhibit exceptional content area and pedagogical knowledge,demonstrate a deep understanding of academic and behavioral standards, assessments, effective instructional strategies, and methodologies,articulate a clear vision for professional collaboration and personnel development and management,contextualize the importance of technology integration in learning and engagement,understand budget and financial operations,possess sound knowledge of school laws, rules, and regulations, andrecognize how cultural diversity, racial relations, and family and community dynamics impact student learning. The successful candidate will also demonstrate:outstanding communication/listening skills,a proven will to engage with and belong to the Cooperstown community,a supportive, shared leadership style,personal and professional integrity,enthusiasm for learning and a genuine love of children, andexcellent judgment and decision-making skills. Certification: School District Leader, School Building Leader, or School District Administrator.
