SCHOOL COUNSELOR (FULL-TIME)The Cooperstown Central School District is seeking a School Counselor to serve students in grades 9-12. This tenure track position is full-time, ten (10) month plus up to fifteen (15) additional days in the summer. Offering an attractive salary and benefits package per the Faculty Association Agreement. Salary commensurate with experience. The primary objectives and efforts of the Counseling Department at CCS are directed toward students as dynamic individuals with boundless capacity to learn. We strive to support each student to make educational, vocational, and social-emotional decisions that are aligned with their needs, interests, and strengths.Qualifications/Responsibilities:NYS Certification as a School Counselor requiredPossess strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skillsEstablish positive relationships with community agencies to support students and familiesMaintain a proficient working knowledge of a developmentally and culturally responsive school counseling programProvide individual counselingProvide services to support students in meeting/achieving their educational, personal-social, career and post-secondary goalsProactively engage and collaborate with students, staff, parents, and administrationSupport students’ academic and social emotional needs through a multi-tiered system of supportParticipate in Child Support Team meetings, CSE meetings, 504 meetings, and other committee/team meetingsPursue continuous professional developmentPlease direct questions to Sarah Spross, Superintendent of Schools at (607) 547-5364.Start Date: Upon Board Appointment
