School CounselorJob Type: Full Time (10 Month)Post Date: June 26, 2023Application Deadline: July 10, 2023Tentative Start Date: August 30, 2023Description: The Cooperstown Central School District seeks a dynamic and innovative candidate for School Counselor (grades 7-12). Cooperstown Jr./Sr. High School is a dynamic neighborhood school that spans grades 7-12 with an approximate enrollment of 400 students. We offer rich and varied educational programs and have an active, supportive parent body. The primary objectives and efforts of the Counseling Department at CCSD are directed toward students as dynamic individuals with boundless capacity to learn. We strive to support each student to make educational, vocational, and social-emotional decisions that are aligned with their needs, interests, and strengths.Responsibilities include; but are not limited to, possess strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; establish positive relationships with community agencies to support students and families; maintain a proficient working knowledge of a developmentally and culturally responsive school counseling program; provide individual counseling; provide services to support students in meeting/achieving their educational, personal-social, career and post-secondary goals; proactively engage and collaborate with students, staff, parents, and administration; support students’ academic and social emotional needs through a multi-tiered system of support; participate in Child Support Team meetings, CSE meetings, 504 meetings, and other committee/team meetings; and pursue continuous professional developmentMission StatementThe Cooperstown Central School District is a collaborative partnership of all home, school, and community stakeholders founded on trust.
