Job Description:The Cambridge Central School District has an anticipated opening for a Special Education Teacher for the 2023-2024 school year. The successful candidate will illustrate a commitment to working in a collaborative environment. The position is a 1.0 FTE tenure track position with a start date of September 5, 2023.Qualifications:Must hold a valid NYS Special Education Certification (SWD Grades 7-12) or proof of completing an accredited NYS program and eligible for certification.Strong commitment to children.Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.Experience working with all levels of students.Responsible for all aspects of teaching including but not limited to the development and implementation of Next Generation Learning Standards/Curriculum, instruction, NYS alternative assessment, student supervision, home/school communication, etc.Have an understanding and experience with RTI, IEP, and 504 procedures.Have knowledge in writing and maintaining IEP’s.Monitor and evaluate the progress of students.Collaborate with team members, faculty, and administration.Work effectively with parents and have knowledge of resources.Advocate for students based on relevant data.
