Dedicated to the learning and growth of all students and teachers with a strong understanding of the emotional and social development of adolescents.Proven leadership in supporting teaching and learning while also facilitating meaningful professional learning opportunities for staff and colleagues.Strong interpersonal skills with students, teachers and families and strong spoken and written communication skills.Maintains a learner stance and continues to acquire professional knowledge and is aware of current trends in education by maintaining a PLN, engaging in professional readings/podcasts and attending seminars/workshops/professional meetings.Knowledge of progressive and innovative instructional methods and educational pedagogy.Knowledge of the workshop model and the gradual release structure.Knowledge of inquiry and project based learning through effective technology integration. Knowledge of the RULER program and overall social and emotional learning concepts.Encourages staff to continue to grow professionally and to experiment with new approaches or strategies to teaching.Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning, and works with staff to modify instructional methods to fit all students' needs.Encourages family engagement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and families.Supervises and evaluates teaching staff and other building employees in accordance with the school district's evaluation plan, and makes recommendations regarding goals, areas needing improvement and continued employment.Organizes and manages the budgetary and financial affairs of the school consistent with school district policies.Qualifications ProfileCertification/License:NYS SBL and/or SDL CertificationEducationBachelor's and Masters Degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in School Administration.Doctorate preferred.ExperienceExperience as a high school principal or central office administrator required.Extensive successful teaching experience at the high school level, and preferably in more than one grade level.This position includes comprehensive benefits and extensive opportunities for professional development and mentor support.Salary Range: $225,000 - $235,000 Application deadline: ASAP
