Band Teacher Gr. 7-12 – 1.0 FTEPosition to Begin: September 2026Requirements:Successful candidates must have a valid and current NYS Teaching Certification for Instrumental Music 7-12Ability to plan, prepare, and deliver sequential, well-paced, and rigorous instruction that promotes musical literacy, technical proficiency, and artistic expressionAbility to inspire, recruit, attract, and retain student musicians across all ensemblesPrepare Pep Band and Marching Band ensembles for school and community events, including community parades (non-competitive)Utilize music technology and instructional tools to enhance rehearsal efficiency and student engagementCommunicate effectively with students, families, colleagues, and administrators regarding student progress, program goals, and performance expectationsWork collaboratively as a team player within the music department and broader school communityExtensive knowledge of all band instruments, band repertoire, and band pedagogyStrong musicianship and commitment to developing high levels of music literacyStrong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate students while fostering teamwork and discipline
