Start date: on/about July 1, 2025.DUTIES:Responsible for the supervision of all facets and aspects of the special education department Works collaboratively with building principals to promote the least restrictive environment and inclusive settingsOverseeing the District’s compliance with NYS and Federal guidelines in all areas of special educationAssist with the District-wide strategic planning efforts to achieve educational excellence and equity for studentsThe director is primarily responsible for all operations in special education, and instructional programs for students with special needs, and supervises special education staff and MTSSProvides leadership and direction in special education to ensure fair and equitable treatment of students, faculty, staff, and familiesLeads all Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetingsIs responsible for the data collection related to special education reporting for the DistrictSupervises the recruitment, application, and selection process for special education staffCoordinates the evaluation program of all special education staffAny other duties as assigned by the superintendent of schools QUALIFICATIONS:Applicants must have appropriate NYS School District Leadership certification.
