10-month position - 2 PositionsCommencing September 2025MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Seeking dual-certified 9-12 special education and content (Biology, Social Studies, Math) teachers to provide instruction and support students enrolled in the BT BOCES Virtual Learning Academy.Key responsibilities include:Teach courses in their certified area for VLA studentsProvide support to the VLA Special Education programDesign, facilitate, implement, and monitor the progress of IEP goals as neededUtilize evidence-based instructional strategies and methods, including differentiation, to meet diverse student needsStructure the student environment to provide a supportive virtual educational setting that maximizes student potentialOngoing collaboration with the Student Success Team, and other teachers working with the studentsSupport students to achieve high expectationsAccurately complete all paperwork related to provided services in a timely manner as mandated by NYS and school policies and proceduresREQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:NYS Certification as a Special Education Teacher: SWD 7-12 Generalist or SWD All Grades ANDNYS Certification in Biology, Social Studies or MathStrong collaboration skillsA commitment to meeting the needs of every studentA strong belief that all students can succeedStrong use of instructional technology to meet student needsExperience in virtual teaching preferred
