MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide direct instruction to students that are deaf and/or hearing impaired Monitor how hearing loss impacts access to classroom instruction Support the use of hearing technology (hearing aids, cochlear implants, FM/OM systems Build confidence in explaining their hearing loss and communication needs Promote independence in managing hearing technology Consult with teachers, staff, interpreters, parents REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: NYS Certification as a Deaf and Hearing-Impaired Teacher
