The Cook Manager is responsible for the preparation and cooking of food in moderately large quantities and the supervision of personnel in the kitchen. The work is performed under general supervision of a School Lunch Director, Manager or other supervisor. Supervision is exercised over the work of Cooks, Food Service Helpers and other school food service staff. This is an on call position as coverage for Kitchen Cook Manager. Hours are Monday -Friday, 6- 6.5 hours per day as needed. Requirements are as follows:Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college or technical university with an AAS degree in food, nutrition, dietetics and one (1) year experience in the preparation and cooking large quantities; orThree (3) years’ experience in the safe preparation, cooking, service and storage of large quantities of food; orAn equivalent combination of training and experience as indicated above.
