Lifeguard - Seasonal/Temporary - HS Diploma & Certifications Req’d ***Valid Nassau County Lifeguard Certification and American Heart Association CPR and Emergency Cardiac Care Certification required*** Location: Brookville, NY (Nassau County / Long Island) Seasonal: July 1, 2026, through August 21, 2026 Hours: Mon-Fri, 9:00am – 3:00pm Hourly Rate: $24.00 /Hr. Join our team as a Lifeguard this summer and support school-age and/or preschool children with intellectual and other disabilities (I/DD) by ensuring a safe, structured, and engaging aquatic environment. At Brookville Center for Children's Services, we provide comprehensive services for children 3-21 years of age with intellectual and other disabilities, traumatic brain injury, and autism. Our mission is to educate and support children of all abilities. Lifeguards are responsible for all aspects of daily pool management and safety, including supervising aquatic and recreational activities, overseeing pool aides, and ensuring staff model appropriate behavior and remain actively engaged with students. This role supports swimming and adaptive aquatic programs that promote students’ physical development and maximize their ability to function safely in the water. Lifeguards enforce pool rules, monitor the condition and placement of life-saving equipment, and promptly report safety concerns, incidents, injuries, or changes in a student’s physical condition while maintaining required documentation and health department records. The position also includes practicing emergency procedures with staff, attending required meetings, and promoting an inclusive, culturally responsive environment that supports students, families, and coworkers across all backgrounds and abilities. We Require: High School Diploma or Equivalent Nassau County Certification for Lifeguard American Heart Association Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiac Care Prior experience working with students with disabilities preferred Physical Aspects may include, but are not limited, to lifting and transferring of an adult/student.
