Nurse Manager-Children's Residential ProgramLido BeachMon-Fri FTRegistered Nurse provides nursing care to a small group of homes in the Children’s Residential Program. Supervises Residential RN in program and provides policy and procedure oversight to the CRP program.Primary duties and responsibilities include but not limited to: Provides supervision to Residential Nurses (RNs) & by maintaining ongoing supervisory interaction and conducting yearly evaluations thereby assisting in ensuring the effectiveness of the nursing department.Confers with the Assistant Director to exchange information, receive instruction, and offer and update on the status of the programConfers with staff to discuss present resident’s medical status as needed and to ensure the ongoing communication of pertinent informationWorks with Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs to identify and implement immediate and long term plans of correction for systemic medical concerns/problems.Monthly Medical Review Committee meetings, nursing staff meetings & attends administrative and management meetings as needed to communicate medical information and seek recommendations to improve medical care to children.Confers with medical providers (pharmacies, psychologists, lab supply vendors, and physicians) by telephone and scheduled meetings to ensure the delivery of quality and cost effective health care services.Confers with family members/correspondents of each child by telephone, to serve as an insightful resource.Participate in 24/7-day week on-call system and provide coverage as needed.Performs other duties as instructed by supervisor. This position requires regular and substantial unsupervised or unrestricted physical contact with people receiving services and, therefore, is subject to successful completion of fingerprint/criminal background check. Ensure that work-related safety procedures are in place and are being adhered to by staff. Observance of an unsafe act or a potentially hazardous work environment must be immediately reported to supervisor and/or safety committee.Qualifications:NYS Registered Nurse License, 3 years experience in clinical nursing working with the developmentally disabled. Must have worked in a supervisory capacity. Valid and qualified NYS Driver's licenseCPR/AED Certificate Physical Aspects may include but are not limited to lifting and transferring of an adult/child participant.
