Andes Central School District is seeking a caring, thoughtful child-centered educator to serve as School Building Principal. The goal is to find an applicant who will continue Andes CSD’s strong tradition of fostering a healthy learning environment for our students, staff and families. The Building Principal’s primary responsibilities will be to support our educational school community and oversee day-to-day school operations. To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate should be able to make quick decisions under pressure and have a comprehensive understanding of NYSED and its regulations. Excellent communications and organizational skills and a love of the small school educational setting are a must for this position. Essential Functions • Provide leadership in maintaining a school culture where all staff, students and families feel safe and valued. • Provide daily leadership in the operations of the school building, student management, and parent communication. • Be knowledgeable of and have an understanding of academic, social-emotional development of pre-k-12 learners and ability to build collaborative relationships. • Communicates the school instructional program, goals, and objectives for the purpose of conveying information and growing partnerships with parents and the community. • Designs and works collaboratively with staff for the purpose of ensuring the effectiveness of ongoing professional development of programs and best practices. • Coordinates with entire school community to support students and families to close the achievement gap. • Provides direction for school budget execution in curriculum implementation, professional development, and relevant instruction areas for the purpose of monitoring the expenditure of funds. • Provides ongoing feedback to staff via formal and informal observations designed for the purpose of ensuring the effectiveness of instruction delivery systems in all content and program areas. • Ensures ongoing analysis of multiple data sources, monitor all data management systems and communication of data and student assessments to NYSED. • Facilitates and supports an equitable learning environment for the school community. • School District: Andes Central School District • Job Function: Pre-K-12 Principal • Job Type: Full-Time • Job Duration: Tenure track • Min Education: NYSED Certified School Building Leader • Min Prior Teaching Experience: 5 years • Salary: Up to $85,000 • Application Deadline: Friday March 24, 2023 • Start Date: Immediately Please apply on OLAS and submit ACS application to Catherine Barber-Graves, Interim Superintendent, 85 Delaware Avenue PO Box 248 Andes, NY 13731 (Do not contact Board of Education Members)
