Qualifications: Valid New York State Certification as a School Building Leader (SBL) OR School District Leader (SDL).Minimum three years’ experience as a building administrator preferred.Extensive knowledge of the principles, practices, methods and current trends of school administration, instructional leadership, management and supervision.Term:10 months, plus 20 summer days Salary:Salary dependent on experience and education, minimum $90,000.00Job Goal:Serve as the Pre-K-8th grades elementary/middle school leader for approximately 335 students, articulating a clear vision of teaching and learning, a commitment to provide engaging and interactive pedagogical practices and a progressive continuum of opportunities for students, inclusive of instructional and extracurricular programs. Provide a comprehensive Pre-K-8 program of study to ensure that all students meet and exceed the New York State Standards. Work directly with the Superintendent, to provide a clear vision, inspiration and energy to promote a highly functioning school community.Major Responsibilities and Duties:Instructional Leadership:Develop and effectively execute programmatic goals, instructional objectives, and educational experiences that are engaging and responsive to all students.Work collaboratively with the superintendent, teachers and staff to implement standards aligned curriculum and to ensure clear articulation of the approved District's goals and instructional priorities. Promote and support the provision of high quality, targeted professional development that leads to improvement of instructional programs and practices.Foster and facilitate student focused and data driven professional learning communities.Supports research-based effective practice, academic rigor, and high expectations for student learning in every classroom.Creates a continuous improvement cycle based on achievement and affective measures.Recruits, retains and inspires educators with a diversity of experience who are conveyors of best practices, catalysts of learning and protectors of the whole child.Promotes innovative use of technology to enhance student learning.Personnel and Financial Management:Direct, supervise, and evaluate instructional and non-instructional staff as applicable, assuring systems of progress monitoring are established and progress is documented and in compliance with District, state and/or federal statutes and rules, and make recommendations for appropriate employment actions.Provide leadership in conjunction with the Superintendent in identifying and acquiring appropriate teaching materials, textbooks, equipment and technology.School-Community Relations:Maintain positive and routine relations with parents to provide information and receive feedback regarding the District’s instructional program.Create, develop and sustain relationships that result in families informed about classroom practices, curriculum and programs so they can actively engage in the learning process. Utilize meaningful feedback of students, staff, families and community in the evaluation of school programs and policies.Building Culture and Environment:Lead with integrity and professionalism, demonstrating personal and professional standards and conduct that enhances the image of the school. Foster and facilitate a culturally-responsive and inclusive school, in which students and staff are actively engaged. Ensure that all staff have high standards and positive expectations for all students to perform at high levels.Ensure an environment in which safety and positive mental health and wellness are actively facilitated.
