SUPERVISOR OF TRANSPORTATIONThe Wynantskill UFSD is looking for someone to fill the supervisor of transportation position. This position involves overseeing the safety and efficiency of our transportation department which includes a fleet of 20 buses and 13 drivers. EXAMPLES OF WORK:Establishes routes to be followed by various drivers;Prepares time schedules for buses;Is a liaison for the service, maintenance and repair of all school district vehicles;Gives road tests to and trains new drivers;Assign substitute bus drivers as needed and for all extracurricular trips;Supervises loading and recommends stopping places for buses;Assists in the preparation of State transportation reports and maps of busroutes;Keeps a daily record of mileage and number of pupils carried;Arranges for all special trips including those for athletic teams;Maintains time records for payroll purposes;Upon occasion, may operate a school bus on an assigned route.Secure information on road conditions as early as possible and notify the SuperintendentACCEPTABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from high school and either:Three years of experience in the maintenance and repair of automotive equipment; orFive years of experience in the operation of multi-passenger vehicles or the dispatching of motor equipment.
