Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related fieldor 2 year accounting degree with 2 years experience with keeping and reviewing financial accounts and recordsor any combination of the aboveMust be able to read and write proficiently and have excellent communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively with othersProficient in Excel, Microsoft Office and ability to learn proprietary softwarePrevious reconciling and account balancing experience requiredDuties:The assistant treasurer shall assist in maintaining and ensuring accuracy of financial accounts and records which involves the application of standardized accounting practices and performing the following duties:Posts to a variety of accounts, monies received and disbursed;Receives and deposits funds to various accounts, and issues receipts for funds receivedAudits bills, timesheets, payrolls and other financial records;Balances accounts and prepares summary statements of ledger balancesCompiles and types payroll data, and prepares, types and checks payrollsCompiles, prepares and types data for simple financial and statistical reportsClassifies recurring receipts and expenditures, and distributes costs according to aprescribed codeHelps to review and check routine account keeping records and reports for mathematical andclerical accuracy, completeness and proper extension.Coordinates employee health insurance, dental insurance and payroll deductions.Issues receipts for monies received; sorts, indexes and files various district reportsReconciling various data and financial accounts.Salary based on qualifications and experience.Competitive benefits package.
