The Watertown City School District is accepting applications for a part-time Teaching Assistant for the 2025-2026 school year for the Primary Project Program. This is a part-time position (3.25 hrs/day).A valid NYS Teaching Assistant Certificate or NYS Teaching Certificate is required to be considered. Please attached a copy of Teaching Assistant certificate or teaching certificate as well as a cover letter, resume, and 3 letters of recommendation to the OLAS application. EOEThis job opportunity offers a unique experience for the successful candidate to work one-on-one with Kindergarten through 3rd grade students to address school adjustment difficulties and increase chances for success. The goal is to reduce social, emotional and school adjustment difficulties and lessen transition behaviors. Improved self-confidence, social skills and learning skills will be successful outcomes. DUTIES: Screen possible students to determine eligibility, using pre-selected screening tools.Meet weekly with students to provide positive and enriching play opportunities, offering them the chance to engage in personal interactions with a compassionate adult.Complete regular progress notes and communicate with families.Engage in ongoing consultation and program evaluation with a member of the Primary Project team.
