The Watertown City School District is currently accepting applications for Credit Recovery Teacher. A certified teacher (7-12 content) is responsible for providing instructional support to students who need to recover credits for courses they did not successfully complete. This role involves creating and implementing individualized learning plans, utilizing various instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, and helping them achieve academic success and progress toward graduation.Responsibilities:Develop and deliver effective instructional plans tailored to meet the needs of students in the credit recovery program.Assess students' academic needs and create personalized learning objectives to help them recover lost credits.Use a variety of strategies in conjunction with the online learning platform Edmentum Courseware to facilitate student learning.Monitor and document student progress regularly, providing feedback and adjusting approaches as needed.Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, assignments, and assessments.Collaborate with other teachers, counselors, and administrators to support student success and address any academic or behavioral issues.Communicate effectively with students, parents, and guardians about students' progress and any concerns or needs.Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages student engagement and motivation.Stay current with educational best practices, resources, and technologies related to credit recovery and intervention programs.Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the continuous improvement of the credit recovery program.With your on-line application, please include the following:A cover letter/letter of intentResume3 letters of recommendationYour most up-to-date transcriptsA copy of your NYS teaching certificateThe district offers excellent benefits to include health, dental, & vision.
