The Watertown City School District has openings for Night Shift Cleaners. Below you will find the job description:DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: This is routine and repetitive physical work involving the efficient and economical performance of building cleaning and related tasks. Cleaning tasks are performed according to a well-established procedure. The work is often performed under the supervision of an immediate supervisor. The incumbent does related work as required.TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: (Illustrative only)Sweeps, vacuums, mops and washes floors and stairs;Uses heave mechanical equipment in stripping, waxing and polishing floors;Operates motorized equipment which assists in making tasks less difficult such as snow-blowers, lawn mowers, weed eaters, blowers;Dusts chairs, tables, desks and other furniture;Polishes furniture and brass;Empties wastebaskets, collects and disposes of trash;Arranges chairs and tables and other equipment for special use of building;Moves furniture, supplies and other equipment;Cleans windows, walls, bath fixtures, equipment, beds and furniture;May load and unload trucks;May operate clothes washer and dryer in laundering of linens, clothing, etc.;Performs custodial tasks as needed. FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Working knowledge of common cleaning, disinfecting methods, materials and equipment;Skill in the use of cleaners and maintenance equipment (i.e. Vacuum cleaner, carpet shampooer and floor buffer);Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions;Ability to lift heavy objects and perform work requiring bending, climbing, reaching and repetitive motion;Ability to get along well with others;Willingness to perform routine cleaning and other physical tasks;Willingness to be exposed to dust, dirt, grease and grime; dependability;Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
