Required Qualifications: NYS Special Education certification 7-12 or All Grades Dual Certification in a content area required Position Details: The Wantagh School District has an anticipated vacancy for a special education teacher shared between Wantagh Middle School/High School. The successful candidate must be driven, flexible and adaptable, as teaching responsibilities may include leading instruction for our students in special class (15:1:1) environments and/or Integrated Co-Teaching environments, as well as, Resource Room. Additionally, the successful candidate should possess the following: o Knowledge and experience practicing differentiated instruction at all levels of academic ability o Ability to provide a learning environment that supports the social-emotional well-being of all students and challenge them to work to the best of their ability. o Strong knowledge of instructional technology o Desire to be a student advocate o Ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with students, families, and faculty.
