Jr/Sr High School Assistant Principal – Waterford-Halfmoon Jr/Sr High School - UPDATEDApplication Deadline: November 14, 2025Salary Range: $77,000 - $90,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications: higher compensation may be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates.Position Overview: Waterford-Halfmoon Jr/Sr High School is seeking a dynamic, collaborative, and student-focused Assistant Principal to join our leadership team. This role is central to supporting the academic, social, and emotional success of all students in grades 7–12. Working closely with the Principal, the Assistant Principal provides leadership in maintaining a safe, positive, and inclusive school environment, promoting student achievement, and supporting staff effectiveness.Primary Responsibilities:Assist with administration of student discipline, attendance, and behavioral interventions, including collaboration with teachers, parents, and students, consistent with the District’s Code of Conduct.Serve as the Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) Coordinator, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment by leading prevention, intervention, and education efforts related to bullying, harassment, and discrimination.Prepare students and staff for all emergency situations, ensuring safety protocols are understood and effectively implemented.Provide administrative oversight of programming (grades 7–9), including student orientation, transition support to junior high and high school, and assistance with curriculum coordination and scheduling.Provide administrative oversight of athletics and extracurricular programs, working collaboratively with the athletic director, coaches, advisors, and staff to promote participation, skill development, and compliance with requirements and regulations.Collaborate with school counselors, teachers, and families to support student well-being, engagement, and social-emotional growth.Support faculty professional growth, and instructional improvement through classroom observations, feedback, and coaching, promoting data-driven instruction.Serve as the District Testing Coordinator, overseeing the ordering, administration, and reporting of state and district assessments for all grades, ensuring compliance with testing regulations and protocols.Provide general student supervision, including arrival and dismissal, lunch, assemblies, and after-school events.Assist the Jr/Sr High Principal with various projects, committees, assemblies, and district initiatives.Carry out all professional duties as assigned by the Jr/Sr High Principal and/or Superintendent of Schools.Key Qualities:New York State SAS, SBL, SDA, or SDL administrative certification is required.Proven ability to motivate staff and students to achieve excellence.Ability to work collaboratively with staff, administrators, students, parents, and the community.A commitment to fostering a positive school culture.Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.Skilled in using data-driven decision-making to improve instruction, student outcomes, and school operations.Passion for creating an equitable and engaging learning environment for all studentsWhy Join Us?A supportive and collaborative district that values innovation in education.Opportunity to lead a committed and talented team of educators.Competitive salary and benefits package.A community that prioritizes student success and engagement.Application Process:To apply, please submit your resume, personalized cover letter, and three professional references via OLAS by November 14, 2025.
