Job DescriptionNumber of Positions: 1 Long Term SubstituteSalary: $46,859 - $55,271, Commensurate with experience Location: F. Donald Myers Education Center, Saratoga SpringsWork Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am-2:45pmThe ELA Instructor is expected to plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in their assigned learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Develop lesson plans and deliver integrated ELA content; Engage students in hands-on, project based learning activities; Deliver culturally responsive, student-centered, instructional strategies; Collaborate as a triad with the CTE and Math instructors; Implement classroom management skills that create a positive, inclusive and safe learning environment; Incorporate student-centered practices to improve teaching and learning and outcomes for all students; Differentiate instruction and provide modifications and accommodations for students; Cooperate with professional and non-professional staff of this school and other school districts in collaborative activities;Maintain classroom safety and evaluates and reports on students’ progress at designated intervals according to established procedures;Ensure appropriate student assessment procedures in keeping with State Education Department mandates; Review assessment results and making proper curriculum, instruction and program adjustment;Co-teach using the explicit instruction model; Incorporate effective use of instructional technology;Foster the improvement of professional and technical skills for postsecondary career readiness;Communicate, connect, and promote effective school-family-community/industry partnerships;Implement BOCES policies, procedures and State Education Department mandates;Other duties as assigned.Minimum Requirements:NYS certified or certifiable in ELA 7-12;Diverse candidates are encouraged to apply.***For the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Certification path, the successful candidate will need to provide letters of occupational experience to become certified in NYS. BOCES will guide the candidate through the process of becoming certified, but all fees are the responsibility of the candidate.
