Location: Ballston Spa & Southern Adirondack Education Center, Hudson Falls Distinguishing Features of the Class:This position involves responsibility for performing regularly scheduled routine preventative maintenance and malfunction-generated repairs on, and installation of, computer equipment such as computer terminals, printers, personal computers and other related peripherals and/or hardware. Equipment is maintained in working condition by performing preventative maintenance and investigating problems as they develop. When other than routine problems occur, the incumbent will perform the needed major technical repairs individually or in consultation with other technicians. Supervision is received from a higher-level administration employee. Does related work as required.Minimum Qualifications: Either: (A) Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with an Associate's degree in electronic or computer technology or closely related field and one year of experience repairing or servicing microcomputers, printers and peripheral equipment; or (B) Completion of an industry certified computer technology training program and two years of the experience as defined in (a) above; or (C) Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma and three years of the experience as defined in (A) above; or (D) An equivalent combination of experience and training as outlined in (A), (B) and (C)above. SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Possession of a valid New York State Driver's License or otherwise demonstrate ability to m-"t transportation needs to perform field work responsibilities in the ordinary course of business.Note: Vacancies are filled by a certified list provided by Washington County Civil Service.
