Monday - Friday, 3:00pm - 11:30pm ShiftGENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Performs custodial and cleaning work in one or more school buildings; does related work as required.MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of experience in building cleaning and maintenance and in addition either:A) One (1) year experience participating in the operation and maintenance of a high or low pressure heating plant in a commercial/industrial or other non-residential building or facility; orB) Satisfactory completion of a post secondary program* in plumbing, steam fitting, electrical, carpentry or heating, ventilating and air conditioning.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND ATTRIBUTES: Good knowledge of modern building cleaning operation and maintenance practices, supplies and equipment; working knowledge of oil fired low pressure steam heating systems; ability to plan and supervise the work of others; ability to understand and follow oral and written directions; ability to get along well with others, particularly teachers and students; skill in performing routine cleaning and maintenance tasks; ability to perform in a reasonable manner the essential functions of the position.DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: Under general supervision, incumbents of this class perform responsible custodial work involving the heating, ventilation, cleaning and routine maintenance of assigned school buildings. Supervision is exercised over lower level custodial and cleaning staff.
