MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Possession of a high school or equivalency diploma and either:(A) One (1) year of experience in security, law enforcement or a closely related field, or(B) Completion of an approved post-high school course in security, law enforcement or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience in security, law enforcement or a closely related field.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND ATTRIBUTES: Skill in the ability to utilize word processing software applications to produce correspondence; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students and school personnel; skill in observing and detecting unusual occurrences or behavior; ability to assist in the supervision of others; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; sound judgement; tact; courtesy; physical condition commensurate with the duties of the position.GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Assists in monitoring security posts of high school security assistants, manages break schedules, and takes direction from high school administrator. This position reports directly to the high school administrator who oversees security. This position assists high school administrators with general security assistant supervision to support a safe and secure learning environment for all students and staff.EXAMPLES OF WORK: (ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY)-Ensures the safety and security of the High School building, site, and its occupants by enforcing high school procedures, rules, and regulations;-Assists in supervision of high school security assistants as needed and participates in the patrol of the high school building and the high school parking lots to prevent illegal trespass by unauthorized individuals;-Enforces the visitor management system and prevents unauthorized visitors from entering the high school and/or loitering on high school grounds;-Informs the appropriate high school administrator of emergencies, safety hazards, security issues;-Assists in all emergency drills and actual emergency events (i.e., Fire/Evacuation, Lockdown, Lockout, Shelter-in-Place, Hold-in-Place, etc.)This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by this employee.
