Wheelerville Union Free School is seeking a 1.0 FTE Pre-Kindergarten Teacher, who is passionate and nurturing. The District is seeking a candidate that creates an engaging, hands-on learning environment that supports children’s physical, emotional, social, and cognitive growth through exploration, movement, and imaginative play.Responsibilities:Foster whole-body learning through active, sensory-rich experiences such as music, movement, art, dramatic play, and outdoor exploration.Promote a classroom environment that nurtures curiosity, cooperation, and independence.Support each child’s individual needs, interests, and developmental milestones.Build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues.Implement NYSED prekindergarten standards.Will co-teach with other colleagues for a push-in or pull-out model to support elementary teachers with AIS one period a day.Have an understanding of IEP’s and 504’sUnderstand and utilize data to support student learningQualifications:Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related fieldPrior experience working with preschool-aged childrenKnowledge of child development principles and play-based learning methodologiesStrong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skillsSalary: Per current WUFSTA contract, level of education and experience will be considered.Candidates must possess an Early Childhood certification to be considered for this position, and a copy of certification must be submitted along with current resume and cover letter, and a minimum of two (2) reference letters.Wheelerville Union Free School is an equal opportunity employer.
