The Valley Stream CHSD, a beautifully diverse school community, is currently seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Probationary World Language Teacher. The successful candidate must possess valid NYS certification. Responsibilities include the following: Ability to design and implement high-quality lessons and materials aligned with the NYS CRSE Framework while supporting and challenging students in a rigorous academic environment Experience working with middle and high school students. Strong understanding of literacy development, second language acquisition, and differentiated instructional strategies. Regularly assess student learning and adjust instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students. Demonstrate the ability to instruct a diverse community of learners, including SWD. Design and implement high quality lessons that actively involve students in the learning process. Support academic, social, and emotional well-being of students by establishing an engaging learning environment that encourages student growth in both language acquisition and content knowledge. Ability to build positive relationships with students and families from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong organizational and classroom management skills. Compensation is at the discretion of the Superintendent of Schools, and in accordance with the negotiated contracts between the Valley Stream CHSD and the Valley Stream Teachers’ Association (VSTA).
