The Valley Stream CHSD, a beautifully diverse school community, is currently seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Probationary Special Education Teacher. The successful candidate must possess valid NYS certification. Additional requirements/responsibilities are outlined below. Design lessons and materials that address the NYS CRSE Framework while supporting and challenging students in a rigorous academic environmentPrepare home assignments and assessment materials, evaluate IEP's and assessment results, and implement innovative methods of teaching based on students’ learning styles and needs.Demonstrate the ability to support a diverse community of learners. Provide interactive, relevant and meaningful learning material for all students.Maintain a positive learning environment that encourages active participation of students.Work collaboratively with colleagues, school leadership and families to develop strategies for addressing identified needs and improving student outcomes.Stay current with educational research, trends, and best practices in content area.Utilize various instructional strategies that actively involve students in the learning process.
