The Valley Stream Central High School District is currently seeking candidates for the position of Transition Coordinator.Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:Working with Classified Special Education students to achieve the Transition Goals set out in their Individual Education Plans (IEPs).Acting as a liaison between the Student, the District and appropriate State Agencies like the Office for Persons with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) and Adult Career and Continuing Education Services-Vocational Rehabilitation (ACCES-VR).Working with In-District and Out-of-District Students who are working to complete the requirements to earn a Career Development and Occupational Studies (CDOS) graduation credential.NYSED Certification as a School Counselor, School Social Worker or Special Education Teacher strongly preferred.
