Position Summary:The Food Service Worker will be assisting with responsibilities related to food services. Part-time - 32.5 hours per week. Schedule: 6:30 am - 1:00 pmPrimary Duties & Essential Functions:Assist with preparation, set up, service and clean-up surrounding the School Breakfast and Lunch program and any other meals as requested.Cooperates in planning special events and extracurricular activities.Communicates any disciplinary problems with students to appropriate school administration.Maintain knowledge of all uses of equipment in the kitchen.Follow all sanitary regulations regarding personnel, food and equipment.Maintain neat and clean work area in the kitchen and cafeteria.Assist in ensuring all food items are prepared according to the menu.Assist in checking all the deliveries of meats, perishables, and food.As this list of duties and responsibilities are not intended to be all-inclusive, other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as business needs require. Required Education, Knowledge and Skills:High School Diploma/GEDExperience in quantity food preparation or a school lunch program.Ability to manage time and workload effectively.Problem solving skills.Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.An equivalent combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities.Abilities and Working Conditions:Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.Willingness to respond to the needs of a culturally diverse population.Ability to deal positively with changing priorities in a fast paced environment.Display a positive, professional and proactive attitude to accomplish quality work that is in line with the agency’s mission statement.Seek opinions, alternative viewpoints in decision making.
