Vanderheyden is seeking a Certified School Psychologist for the 853 School on our main campus in Wynantskill, NY. The School Psychologist will work as a child advocate and deliver comprehensive psychological services to promote mental health, emotional, cognitive, social and personal development of all students. Job Duties:Assist in ensuring that every child has the opportunity to learn in a safe, healthy and supportive environment, working within the service framework of legal and recognized professional standards and in accordance with Agency policy.Work with clinicians and social workers to provide intensive therapeutic counseling in accordance with the Agency model.Record and maintain diagnostic testing for students as needed to provide current data for educational placement and/or Individualized Education Plan (IEP) development.Write psycho-social and psychological reports that will be send to outside Agencies for student support. These reports must meet VESID requirements.Oversee IEP’s and 504 plans for all disabled students attending the campus school.As this list of duties and responsibilities are not intended to be all-inclusive, other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as business needs require.Skill, Qualifications, Knowledge, Abilities and Physical Requirements:Master Degree in PsychologyNYS Certification in School PsychologyExperience in Education SettingMust have a valid NYS driver’s licenseMust be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.Willingness to respond to the needs of a culturally diverse population.Display a positive, professional and proactive attitude to accomplish quality work that is in line with the agency’s mission statement.Seek opinions, alternative viewpoints in decision making.
