Virginia Road School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Long-Term Substitute Teacher for a First Grade classroom. This position is from November 2025 through February 2026. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education, familiar with research-based literacy practices aligned with the Science of Reading, and comfortable implementing established instructional programs.Responsibilities:Deliver daily instruction in all core subject areas aligned with NYS StandardsImplement the Science of Reading-aligned curriculum (e.g., Fundations, Into Reading)Deliver math instruction using Reveal MathPlan and deliver lessons in Science 21 and Social StudiesDifferentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learnersCreate a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environmentCommunicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administratorsUtilize classroom management strategies to support student learning and growthCollaborate with grade-level colleagues and instructional support staff
