Valley Stream School District 30 (Special Education K-6) VACANCY FOR 2026-2027 SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHERS (K-6) PROBATIONARY Starting date: August 31, 2026 Qualifications: Valid NYS certification: Students with Disabilities Birth - Gr. 2; Students with Disabilities Grades 1-6 Eligible for hire via Project SAVE requirements. Bilingual (SPA or Urdu ) preferred Requirements: Experience in a Special Education Class or Self-Contained Provides specialized instruction to students with disabilities and follows the IEP Employ positive and therapeutic behavioral intervention strategies Collect data to monitor student progress and drive instruction Work as part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team to develop IEPs Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student success. Maintain accurate documentation, including IEPs and progress reports, in compliance with legal requirements. Salary: At the discretion of the Superintendent of Schools, in accordance with the negotiated contract between Valley Stream District 30 and the Valley Stream Teachers Association (VSTA).
