PLEASE POSTValley Stream District #30ANTICIPATED VACANCY FOR 2023-2024Director of Technology and 21st Century Learning(Probationary)We are seeking a highly educated and qualified educational leader to serve as District-wide Director of Technology and 21st Century Learning. The Valley Stream UFSD #30 is a highly performing school district. The successful candidate will demonstrate high-quality transformational, emotional intelligence, and collaborative leadership practices and skills in executing the essential duties and responsibilities outlined below. This position reports to the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction and is provided a four-year probationary appointment. This position is a part of the Valley Stream Council of Supervisory Associations. The duties, responsibilities, and other functions as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools and/or designee, are listed below.Starting date: On or about July 1, 2023Qualifications:NYS Certification SAS/SDA (required)Prior Experience as an District Administrator or District-Wide capacity (preferred)Experience with eSchool (preferred)Requirements:Advise, coordinate, and manage purchases of software, hardware, electronic resources and technical infrastructure that supports current and emerging technologies throughout the district.Coordinate and supervise the reporting of student and teacher data through Student Information Repository System (SIRS) as well as data warehouse systems.Coordinate in service professional learning related to instructional and administrative uses of technology-based instructional programs for faculty and staff.Develop, monitor, and administer the district’s technology budget, District Technology Plan and district E-rate applications.Integrate technology into the instructional framework, with an emphasis on enhancing student digital citizenship outcomes, teacher effectiveness, and school-family communications.Maintain complete district inventory of technology assets.Maintain the district’s compliance as it pertains to Ed-Law 2d (i.e., Personal Identifiable Information, Data Privacy Officer) and the NIST CSF guidelines and regulations.Organize, plan, direct, coordinate, and maintain the technical infrastructure in all facets of district operations including cyber security, networks, CCTV, access control, and communication systems.Oversee and manage Student Management Systems, Emergency/Security Management Systems & Financial Management Systems.Promote and infuse 21st Century Technology Skills into the daily curriculum and social emotional activities to create learning activities that cover ethical, social and cultural aspects of computing skills.Supervise and monitor technical staff’s support to all stakeholders as it pertains to district technology devices/tools.Support the district’s communication initiatives with the management of the district website, social media, as well as multimedia support for events, such as concerts and Board meetings.Salary: To Be DeterminedDeadline for application: June 16, 2023Interested candidates should apply on the Online Application System (OLAS) at www.olasjobs.org/longisland Please address online cover letters to: Marcela Moran, Human Resources Administrator
