Valley Stream District #302024-2025ASSISTANT TO THE SUPERINTENDENTValley Stream UFSD #30 seeks a dynamic and motivated candidate to join our district's administrative team as the Assistant to the Superintendent. This crucial role requires strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills while ensuring compliance with regulations in personnel management, technology and data privacy, student registration, and communication strategies. The ideal candidate must possess exceptional strategic planning abilities, meticulous attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the utmost discretion when handling sensitive information. The Valley Stream UFSD #30 is a highly performing school district. This position reports to the Superintendent. This position is a non-aligned position. The duties, responsibilities, and other functions as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools and/or designee, are listed below.Starting date: Immediate Qualifications:NYSED SDL/SAS Certification requiredExperience in a District Central Office setting - required Responsibilities:Candidate will serve in the capacities of Data Protection Officer, Dignity Act Coordinator, District Policies Co-Chair, Residency, Strategic Plan Co-Chair, Title IX Officer and other responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent Supervises, monitors and leads major initiatives such as the implementation of newly awarded competitive grants, as well as the management of various roles assigned to the grant.Supervises, monitors and leads assigned chair duties in implementing district plans, ensuring adherence to NYSED regulations and submission of required updates for annual or biannual evaluation by the Board of Education.Supervises, monitors and leads the Communication Strategy and utilizes the Valley Stream #30 diverse software platforms to enhance and drive the district’s communications strategy to strengthen and drive a multi-channel communications strategy.Serves as a co-chair on the Hiring Advisory Committee for all professional positions.Supervises, monitors and leads observations, tenures, seniority and other district professional requirements. Supervises, monitors and leads the Professional Learning of certified staff including but not limited to New Teacher Orientation Plan, Mentor-Mentee Assignment, Principals & Teacher Growth/Improvement PlansSupervises, monitors and leads the APPR Plan, ensuring that all aspects of the plan are followed according to schedule and in compliance with state reporting requirements. This includes monitoring observation schedules and progress throughout each step of the plan.Supervises, monitors, and leads the Director of Technology, along with a team of technical specialists and data consultants, in the implementation of the Instructional Technology Plan to support student achievement and engagement through the seamless integration of technology into teaching and learning as well as leadership use of data management systems such as BEDS, NWEA, NYSED Assessments, Student Information System to meet state reporting requirements.Supervises, monitors and leads the process of student registration, ensuring that clerical staff are following all NYSED registration regulations and requirements.Salary: To Be DeterminedDeadline for application: June 26, 2024Interested candidates should apply on the Online Application System (OLAS) at www.olasjobs.org/longisland Please address online cover letters to: Marcela Moran, Assistant Superintendent for Business and HR
