TITLE: ADULT EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR (LPN Program Instructor) Hourly Position Anticipated class schedule: Program offered throughout the year (20-40 hours per week) Location: 40 Catherwood Road, Ithaca, NY DUTIES: We are looking for a great RN instructor to train the LPN classes we hold throughout the year The LPN instructor is a Registered Nurse who instructs students on how to become a successful Licensed Practical Nurse The instructor is the one who evaluates the knowledge and skills of the students in the LPN course The instructor guides and encourages the students to achieve a higher license or rating and make a profession as an LPN Provide satisfactory education and nursing instruction for aspiring students Teach students modern concepts and techniques in the field of nurses The individual will be responsible for supervising, instructing, and evaluating students in the clinical setting The students will be instructed within the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Scope of Practice at various clinical settings per curriculum outline to meet program objectives The individual will track, record, and report clinical performance on student evaluation tools Lead and manage the students and do direct learning activities in the classroom Maintain the level of professionalism at all times Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess NYSED Adult Ed Work Experience Instructor or Job Skills Training Instructor Certification. Must be a Registered Nurse with a current, unencumbered NYS license Current nursing skills are required The following Qualifications/Skills/Abilities are desirable, but not required: Master's degree/ a bachelor’s degree of science in nursing (BSN) with a minimum of three years of clinical work experience. Membership in professional nursing organizations is beneficial. Teaching and communication skills in addition to your clinical and conceptual knowledge of practical nursing. Strong organizational skills and familiarity with computer programs and online applications, especially educational software like Blackboard and Google Classroom, are also useful. START DATE: September 16, 2025 SALARY: $45.00 per/hour. (Class times and schedule - TBD.) (Position is more than 10 hours, therefore is part of the Adult Education Bargaining Unit.)
